Exploring About the Four Yuga Avatars: An Introduction
"यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत:।
अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम्॥ (चतुर्थ अध्याय, श्लोक 7)"

What is a Yuga and its types?
Before discussing the 4 Yuga Avatars, let us know what is a Yuga and its types? Say it Yuga or Ages, which is like a period in which people evolve, go down and evolve again. It is like a transition from one period to another. Basically, it is of 4 types:
- Krita Yuga(Satya Yuga) : The first yuga, which lasted 1,728,000 years
- Treta Yuga: Lasted 1,296,000 years
- Dvapara Yuga: Lasted 864,000 years
- Kali Yuga: The current yuga, which began in 3102 BCE and will last 432,000 years.
It is a belief, as per Vishnu Puran, Kalki Puran, that Lord Vishnu will incarnate in Kaliyuga to slay Kali Purush and then restore Dharma. But before that, we will know in which Yuga which avatar of Vishnu ji appeared.
The ten avatars or incarnations of God Vishnu Ji :
Given below is the list of avatars that appeared as per their Yuga:
- Krita Yuga (Satya Yuga) -
In this Yuga, Matsya, Koorma, Varaaha and Narsimha were born. It was the Yuga of complete devotion and truth.
- Treta Yuga
In this Yuga, Vaaman, Parasuraama and Sri Rama were born. This Yuga was all about doing Dharma and walking on the right path.
- Dwapara Yuga
The two most famous avatars of God Vishnu Ji are Balarama and Krishna. They both are loved most and will later be the most followed.
- Kali Yuga

Matsya( The First Incarnation) :

Koorma (The Second Incarnation)

So, during the churning of the ocean by the Devas and Asuras, Mount Mandara was unstable, so to balance it, Vishnu took the form of a tortoise to support Mount Mandara, thus protecting it from sinking. This incarnation is about balance, patience and also preserving things.
