Ashwatthama : Son of mentor Dronacharya

Ashwatthama was the son of a revered teacher in Mahabharata. He fought on the side of Kauravas against the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra war. He even knew the use of Brahmastra. But he was cursed by Krishna. 

After the Kurukshetra war Kauravas were defeated. He was sad by watching his friend Duryodhan die in front of him. He took an oath to end the lineage of Pandavas. At night, he secretly went to the camp of Pandavas. There he killed all 5 children of Pandava while they were asleep. 

He also tried to kill Abhimanyu’s unborn baby. Abhimanyu’s widow wife Uttara was carrying a baby. He was later called Parikshita. Ashwathama uses Brahmastra to kill him. But Krishna saved him. 

Krishna cursed him for killing 5 children of Pandavas and attempting to kill Parikshita. He said, “You cannot tolerate your own pain, the pain of Duryodhana. But you will live with this pain till the end of this universe. You will get the curse of immortality. 

After cursing him Krishna took the gemstone on his head. That left a wound on his head. This wound can never be heal by any means. 

 

Ashwathama Is Still Alive!

Ashwathama is still alive and keeps wandering in pain. In a fort of Asirgarh in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, people claimed that they had seen Ashwathama. A very ancient temple of Lord Shiva is situated there.  

It is said that Ashwathama comes every morning to offer prayer to Shiva. Here, fresh flowers are found offered to Shiva every day before the arrival of the priest. Also, a strange 12-14 feet tall person was seen several times. He asks for turmeric and oil from people.  

 

PrithviRaj Chauhan Meets Ashwathama 

 

According to a very famous book, Prithviraj Rasool, PrithviRaj once met Ashwathama. It says, after losing from Mohamand Gauri, he went wandering in the forest. When he left, met Ashwatthama in the forest. 

It has been said that Prithviraj even treat Ashwathama’s wound on head. Because he himself was a great Ayurvedacharya. But his wounds didn’t heal. So, after that Ashwathama introduced himself to him and left. 

 

Ram Bhakta Hanuman

Hanuman is the biggest and most faithful devotee of Rama. Known for his incredible strength, loyalty, and unbreakable devotion. He played a crucial role in Ramayana.

Here, a question arises, “When Shri Ram left his body and left this world, why is Hanuman still here? And what is the purpose of this existence till the end of this universe?”

 

Boon of Devi Seeta

When Ravana captured Sita, Ram sent Hanuman to Lanka with his message. When he gave her Ram’s message, she became happy. Then Sita gave a boon to Hanuman that he would live till the end of the universe. 

 

Hanuman Tries to Eat Sun

The answer to why Hanuman is an immortal can also be found from his childhood story. Once Hanuman considered the sun as a fruit. He was about to swallow it whole when Indra attacked him with his thunderbolt. He was injured badly. Then Pawan Dev, who is called Hanuman’s father, stopped the wind of the whole world. In such a situation, the 33 Koti Gods and Goddesses not only cured him but also gave him immense power. And blessed him with a boon of living forever till the end of the universe. 

 

How did Tulsi Das write Ramayana?

Tulsi Das, great poet of Kaliyuga, said that he heard Ramayana from Hanuman. Then he composed Ramcharitmanas and Hanuman Chalisa. 

 

Hanuman is Here at Present!

There are various tales by people who claim that they have seen hanuman. First one states that a Sri Lankan Tribal Community of the Biduru Mountains worships Hanuman. After every 41 years they celebrate a huge festival called Charan Puja. They believe that after every 41 years Hanuman comes there at the time of Puja. It is also believed that Hanuman ji meditates at Gandhamadana Mountain near Rameshwar Dham.

 

Purpose of Hanuman Ji’s Stay

Here comes the interesting part. Hanuman is waiting for Kalki, the last avatar of Lord Vishnu. He is here so that with Kalki’s help he can defeat Kali. This is also mention in the Hanuman Chalisa. 

 

“अष्ट सिद्धि नौ निधि के दाता।  अस बर दींन जानकी माता।। “ 

This means he has the power of 33 Koti Gods and Goddesses. He is here so that he could give the knowledge of Ashta Siddhi and Nav Nidhi to Kalki avatar. 

 

Vibhishana

 

He was the brother of the demon king Ravana. Yet he was on Rama’s side. Because he disagreed with Ravana’s cruelties. He played a key role in Rama’s victory, providing strategic insights to Ravana’s weaknesses. After the war ended, Ravana cursed him for betraying his brother. Legends also state that he was granted immortality by Rama for his righteousness and loyalty. As he stood with the right even against his own family. 

 

A Place where You can See Vibhishana 

 

If you want to see Vibhishana, you can see him every morning near Jagannatha Swami temple. Although you can’t see him wandering around. But still you can feel his presence there. He daily offers prayers to Rama. As after hanuman, he is also a great Rama devotee. And he is also waiting for the Kalki Avatar.   

Kripacharya 

Kripacharya Archery expertise makes him a skilled fighter and teacher. In the Kurukshetra battle, he fought alongside the Pandavas. Parashurama gave immortality to him in honour of his loyalty and combat abilities. His story highlights the benefits of education, mentorship, and remaining loyal to one’s ideals.

 

Parashurama : Sage with a Battle Axe

 

He is the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu and a skilled warrior. He was born to eradicate the Kshatriya warrior class due to their arrogance and violence. He possesses an immensely powerful battle axe, a bow (Pinaka) and divine abilities. Parshurama has the knowledge of Vedas and warfare. He took an oath to exterminate Kshatriya 21 times. 

 

When Two Vishnu Avatars Collide

After fulfilling his oath he gave Pinaka to King Janak (Father of Seeta). Then he went to Mahendra Mountain for meditation. You are already familiar with the story of Seeta’s swayamvar. Rama broke Pinaka to prove that he was a worthy candidate to marry Seeta. But Parshuram got angry. He came to Rama to eradicate him. As Rama belonged to the Kshatriyas. This was the only time when two avatars of Vishnu came face to face.  

Then Parshurama was convince that his objective was to destroy cruel Kshatriyas. Whereas Ram was an ideal King. He cares for his people. Then Parshurama calmed down. After that he went back toward Mahendra Mountain, Odisha. 

 

Why is Parashurama an Immortal?

There were two purposes of his birth. First to save people from cruel Kshatriyas. Secondly, to become the War leader of Kalki, the last avatar of Vishnu. Parshurama has Pinaka (bow of Shiva).

Mahabali

 

Mahabali was a great king among 7 Chiranjivis. Their story has revise for centuries. It inspires people to live their lives with kindness. According to his story, his father Virochan (son of Prahalad) was killed by Devraj Indra. 

King Bali, for his revenge, attacked Dev lok and became the emperor of three Lokas. He was a great devotee of Vishnu and grew up to be a just and great king. 

 

Big 3 Steps of a Dwarf Brahmin

 

Once Lord Vishnu tested Bali’s devotion. He came before him in a Vaman (Dwarf Brahmin) Avatar. The Vaman asked for a gift from Bali. As a gift, he asked for three paces of land for living. Bali agreed for this gift. 

However, Vaman revealed himself as Vishnu. His first step cover the entire earth, with the second the heaven, and for the third step there was no space left. So, he placed his foot on Bali’s head and sent him to hell.  

Later, Bali worshipped Vishnu. So, Vishnu gave him the freedom to live in hell with his family. However, he was so impress by Bali’s devotion that he also granted immortality to Bali. 

 

Veda Vyasa 

Vedavyasa is known for his divine knowledge and intelligence. He compiled Vedas in 4 parts. Also, he narrated the epic Mahabharata.  

It has been said that he died at the age of 116 years. But in hindu mythology, he has also including in Chiranjivis. Just to share this knowledge in the whole world and preserve it till the end of the universe. 

So, he is still alive and resides at Mana, Uttarakhand. He still lives in a small cave. Today, a temple has also been built near that cave. It is called Vyas Gufa. His aim is to give Kalki the knowledge of the Vedas.

Hope will rise again in the darkest period of Ghor Kali Yuga. The shadows of Kali Purush reach across the earth. Seven immortals  will rise from their disguise and fulfil their destiny.
