Kali and Kalki

We live in the current era of Kaliyuga .Kaliyuga is also known as ” age of darkness“. In this yuga, the moral values, respect , prayers will decline and  fear, lies, and other illegal activities will replace all. Like other yugas, Kaliyuga will also end with the war between  kali and kalki.  Lord Kalki will represent truth and dharam while  kali purusha will represent adharma and kaliyuga. Lord Kalki will kill other sinners who got corrupted under the influence of Kali. Only the holy and divine people will survive in this war.

Who is Kali or Kali Purusha?

Kalipursh ancestor is Brahma (creator of this world) and also the grandson  of Adharma and Mithya(falsehood).  Adharam  born from Brahma ji is given the duty of corrupting people with less moral values and at last taking them to the ultimate path of destruction. From Adharma and Mithya(falsehood) Dambhat( vanity ) is born  and will marry Maya (illusion). From both Krodh(anger ) is born. Later, Krodha married Himsa( Violence), and they gave birth to Kalipurusha. The above family description of Kalkipurush shows his power abilities. 

Existence of Kali in every yuga.

Many years ago, when the churning of the ocean took place between the gods and demons, Kali i.e. the god of Kaliyuga was born. At that time Kali’s death was saved by the influence of nectar(amrit). Kali tried to destroy Dharma with a new form in every age, but he faced defeat due to the presence of divine powers before him. It is believed that he was Ravana in Treta Yuga, while in Dwapara Yuga he was Kansa and Duryodhana.

Powers of Kali purusha.

According to Kalki purana , kalipurusha is gigantic in shape and his powers increase through gold, gambling , prostitution and many other illegal activities. He is most powerful form of Kali and so to kill him alone is difficult. The 7 immortals will rise and accompany Lord Kalki to finish Kalipurush. But how will he grow strong ? Kalipurush source of power is doing adharma path and points below shows how he will grow strong.

• As Kaliyug is already at its peak full of illegal activities, at the time of Kalipurush , it will become a source of power for him. He will use destructive weapons and kill those who disobey him. His powers will grow through possession of gold and illegal activities.
• All the holy people , sages and honest people will suffer from his wrath , as he will try to stop prayers, havana etc , dedicated to the Gods.
• People will start eating each other, lack of food, water and fights will happen frequently and Kali Purush will support sinners.
• He will marry Alakshmi . Alakshmi is sister of Goddess Lakshmi and wherever she will go , her appearance will cause destruction , property disputes etc.
• His brothers , cousins will also make him powerful and his sons will start troubling the good people.

When will Lord Kalki appear on earth?

From previous paragraphs , we came to know about the powers of Kali and how he will become invincible. Seeing no other way , all the Devats, warriors and holy people will pray together to Lord Vishnu Ji’s help. Hearing their prayers, Vishnu Ji will take birth as Kalki Avatar. As per Kalki Purana, Lord Kalki’s birth will take place on Baisakhi on the 12th of the following moon day.

Born at the home of eminent Brahman couples Vishnuyasa and Sumati , he will already have powers in his blood. He will end the powers of Kali and restore dharma everywhere. Although he will be less powerful then Kali , he will gain powers and be accompanied by many other warriors to end Kaliyuga. Let us see some facts about Lord Kalki.

•  Lord Parashurama, one of the seven immortals, is the mentor of Kalki. He will master knowledge about 64 arts and complete Vedas. It is also mentioned in Kalki Purana that Lord Shiva will bless him for his prayers. The blessings include a Devdatta ( horse with wings), a sword, and a predicting parrot.
•  His three elder brothers, Kavi, Prajna, and Sumantra, and the 7 immortals will participate in the great Kali and Kalki war. Padmavati and Ramma will marry him.
• He will kill all accomplices of Kalipurush  and many warriors along with 7 immortals will join him.
• Dharma, Satyuga, and the 7 immortals form part of the Kalki army and kill Kalipurusha .
• Like other incarnations of Vishnu, Lord Kalki can change time and restore Dharma. He will handle the wheel of Dharma.
• Lord Kalki’s weapons will be powerful enough to kill the demons of Kalipurush.

Lord Kalki with the help of 7 immortals and other mighty warriors will successfully end Kalipurush reign. After the death of Kalipurush , he will then kill all the sinners and spare only the devotees and honest people. The Kali and Kalki war will cause mass destruction from both sides.

Many will die from both sides and at last dharma will triumph over Adharma . The whole earth will be full of blood and only the good , holy people will survive. So to survive the wrath of Lord Kalki, one must start praying to god and refrain from any bad or illegal activities.
